Celebrating the Fourth with FunPosted by Darren Drevik on Jul 7, 2014 in Letters from Vermont | 0 comments
“You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4 not with a parade of guns, tanks and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness.”
– Erma Bombeck
We had a great time during Montgomery’s annual Fourth of July celebration over the weekend. Lynne & Michael designed an awesome float using the Pixar movie Up as the theme. With Darren dressed as Carl and Joey as Russell, you add in 75 balloons to the top of the house and boom — a great float we enjoyed parading down Main Street on Friday. It was one of the best Fourth of July Vermont events.
Adventure was out there, and so we thought we’d share a few photographs of the parade and events.
Keep in mind that holiday weekends are always a great time to stay with us at the Phineas Swann. Our town and other nearby ones at the top of Vermont always have festivals and events that give you that small-town experience even though we’re just a few hours drive from the big city. Check our calendar of events to always know what’s happening near the Phinnie.
