Scaring Up Some FunPosted by Darren Drevik on Nov 2, 2015 in Letters from Vermont | 0 comments
We just completed our third Haunted Phineas, the annual Vermont haunted house we do here as a fund-raiser for Montgomery Elementary School.
It’s great fun putting it together for the community, and each year we try to raise the bar just a little from the year before. The feedback from attendees this year was that we did just that, and that the spooks were a little spookier this year than in years past.
We had a couple of guests over the weekend, and we were worried they might find all the decorations and chaos in the Main House offputting. Just the opposite. They loved it and made sure they made the tour during their stay. One guest, Cheryl, was even nice enough to take some photos, which we’ve included here.
We now start our four-week “stick season,” that quiet time between Fall Foliage season and the start of skiing. Jay Peak is expecting to open up the weekend before Thanksgiving, so if you’re thinking about an early ski trip, make sure to book with us for early December. We promise you won’t find the process scary at all.
